Action and Awareness:
5calls.org: Make your voice heard! 5 Calls is a great resource that can be accessed from the 5calls.org website and as an app, and can be used to find zipcode-specific calls to action. “Turn your passive participation into active resistance. Facebook likes and Twitter retweets can’t create the change you want to see. Calling your Government on the phone can.” –5calls.org
Capitol Calendar: Track what’s happening in Congress by following along on the Indivisible Capitol Calendar.
Gerrymandering action: The ODP and other groups are readying for a petition drive to get redistricting of US Congressional seats on the Ohio ballot. ODP lead David Pepper asks that we pledge to gather petitions by texting the word FAIR to the number 90975. He writes: “A number of good government groups are finalizing their work on ballot language that will lead to fair districts for Congress in Ohio (using the same approach of Issue 1, which passed in 2015 with 72% of the vote). They are eager to get this done in the 2017 cycle if possible. Here’s the challenge — to get it on the ballot for 2017, they would need to gather 300,000 valid signatures by July 5 (which means 500,000 total signatures). From all the energy I’m seeing, I think that’s possible. It will take several thousand people being willing to get 100 or 200 signatures each.”
Standing Indivisible against white supremacy: A guide published by Indivisible that will help fight white supremacy and other systems of suppression. “In the wake of the domestic terrorist attack and white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, VA, it is important that we take a critical look at our role in dismantling systems of oppression. This document includes initial things to do in your groups and your community, but is just a start. We’ll have more resources coming out in upcoming weeks and you can see at the end a list of suggested reading.” –Indivisible website
Stop TrumpCare: Indivisible has pulled together resources, including detailed background information, call scripts, and a timeline for TrumpCare. You can find that information and much more on the Indivisible site: Enough is Enough: Stop TrumpCare
