Hey Allen County folks! Everyone in the media has been saying it’s more important than ever to run for office, but we all know it’s hard, and there’s a chance you’ll lose. So what’s the solution? Run UNOPPOSED for the position of Central Committee member of the Allen County Democratic Party!
Also known as Precinct Captains, these elected officials essentially perform a few basic get out the vote (GOTV) duties throughout their four-year term. These include registering voters, canvassing for Democratic candidates, recommending poll workers, phonebanking, and attending occasional meetings of the Allen County Democratic Party. (If you are unable to do some of these things, you’re allowed to find someone to fill in.) For a full list of duties, contact us, and we’ll forward you the document Jim Bode sent AHEAD.
Here is a(n incomplete) list of the precincts that currently DO have captains:
If you live in one of the precincts NOT listed here, congratulations! You’re now running for office.
Kidding. But seriously, you all should do it. You don’t even have to run a campaign – Kerry Bush’s dad has been the Bluffton B Precinct Captain for years and she didn’t even know he was on the ballot until she went to vote for the first time!
Don’t know your precinct? Look it up here.
